Our Activities

2026 CELEBRATING OUR 40th ANNUAL CRAB FEED!
For 40 years, our club has been serving our community at our Annual Crab Feed.  Traditionally, it is held the 3rd Saturday in January and this year is no exception. We will be meeting at Heran Hall at the Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church, on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Every year we sell out of this event. We aren't quite sure whether it's the awesomely fresh all-you-can-eat crab, or our famous (at least in these parts) clam chowder, or the fun or our raucous auctions.

Come and find out for yourself!

Our proceeds benefit our Upcountry projects and especially our youth:  through sponsorship of Scout Troop  78 (who will be helping us serve at the Crab Feed), sending at least 3 young adults to Camp RYLA and 5 middle school kids each year to Camp REGL to learn leadership skills and build personal character, and promoting the annual Rotary Speech and Music Contests in the county.

We are grateful to Our Lady of the Pines for allowing us to use their venue for so many years, to our sponsors for your generous donations and contributions, and to all of the community for attending.

What's Going On...
39th ANNUAL CRABFEED WAS HELD JANUARY 18, 2025!
A GREAT BIG UPCOUNTRY THANK YOU goes out to everyone in our community who participated, supported, and donated to our Annual Amador Upcountry Rotary Crab Feed Fundraiser last January. We were blessed with good weather, a full house, great raffle and auction items, and of course, fabulous crab and clam chowder. Special thanks to Area Governor and Upcountry Club member Tammy Demetrus for planning and  organizing the event. We raised over $9500 for our upcountry community service projects, that will go toward our vocational scholarships, and to sponsor 3 high school seniors to Rotary's Youth Leadership Awakening Camp next summer at Camp Grizzly in Portola, CA , as well as 5 eighth graders to attend Rotary's Eighth Grade Leadership Camp in September. For more information about our leadership camps, please go to camp-ryla.org and to rotaryegl.com.
We were honored to receive the ShelterBox Hero recognition for Rotary Year 2019-2020. ShelterBox has surpassed 1.6 million people sheltered since 2000 and has provided aid to over 87,000 people so far in 2020!

Every year for over 20 years, the Rotary Clubs in Amador County distribute big, beautiful, colorful and useful dictionaries to EVERY 3rd grader in the county. Amador Upcountry Rotary services Pioneer and Pine Grove Elementary School and Community Christian School children.
For many, this is the first book they have ever owned. One of the most common questions heard is, "Do we really get to take it home?" Many thanks to long time Upcountry Rotarian Bill Almgren who passed away in 2022 for bringing this amazing program to our community year after year and thanks to his Rotarian and community helpers for assisting in the distribution at the schools!  Thank you, Bill, for this legacy of yours.
